Charter seat inventory

Charter seats, allotments and fares under control

Charter seat inventory is where tour operators run their own flights in booking24. You create flights or whole series, set seat counts and fares per season and passenger type, and give each agency a guaranteed or shared allotment. Every booking is checked against free seats and the agency's allotment before it is saved.

How it works

  1. Create flights or a series

Create a single flight or a series that repeats every few days, with separate seat counts for adults and children and for infants.

  2. Set fares per season

Prices are set per adult, child and infant, for one-way and return trips and for main and off season. Airport and route taxes are added automatically.

  3. Give agencies their allotment

Assign each agency its seats on a flight, guaranteed or not, or let agencies book from a shared pool. Bulk assignment comes with a preview.

  4. Agents book against the allotment

Agencies search the public flights and book. Before the booking is saved, free seats and the agency's allotment are checked again.

  5. Change prices in bulk

Change prices for many flights at once. Every change is kept in the price history and a notification e-mail goes out.

Guards around every seat

  • Guaranteed allotments stay protected

Seats held in an agency's guaranteed allotment cannot be booked by other agencies.

  • Allotments never drop below sales

An allotment cannot be reduced below the seats the agency has already booked, and every change is kept in a history.

  • No booking on stale availability

A booking must be completed within 30 minutes of seeing the price, otherwise it is refused and the agent searches again.

  • Seat counts are recounted

Seat counters are recounted after cancellations and imports and on a schedule, and a system check lists overbooked flights and exceeded allotments.

  • Exact counts only for those allowed

Agencies without the matching right only see that seats are available once more than nine are free.

  • Internal flights stay internal

Flights marked internal or external never appear in agency or public search.

Questions agencies ask

Can one flight be shared between several agencies?

Yes. Each agency gets its own allotment, guaranteed or not, and agencies can also book from a shared pool.

What happens when an agency's allotment is used up?

The booking is refused with a message that the agency's allotment for this flight is exhausted.

Can children and infants have their own prices?

Yes. Adult, child and infant prices are set separately, for one-way and return trips and for main and off season.

Can each agency have its own markup?

Yes. Markups, discounts and commissions can be set per agency.

Are bus trips supported as well?

Yes. Bus trips with intermediate stops are managed alongside flights.
